Disclosure Note: VoIP Supply has engaged in a media swap arrangement with HD Voice News
Hardware reseller VoIP Supply (www.voipsupply.com) has quietly launched a dedicated section on its website to HD voice. The site includes links to Polycom, AudioCodes, and Aastra’s websites, as well as four pages of tutorials on HD voice.
Under “HD Voice Resources,” topics include “What is HD Voice?,” “Benefits of HD Voice,” “HD Voice Codecs,” and “HD Voice and Networks.” Each web page runs about 600 to 750 words and provides in-depth discussion of the select topic.
The move marks the latest HD voice building block that VoIP Supply has put down. In December 2009, the company announced its Reclaim VoIP buyback program, allowing businesses to sell their used or excess VoIP equipment in exchange for store credit or cash; one of the reasons cited was to allow companies to leverage their existing hardware assets to upgrade to HD voice-capable equipment – there’s a lot of stock/vanilla VoIP gear in circulation.
At IT EXPO East in January, VoIP Supply sought out HD Voice News and discussed various ways the two entities could work together. To date, that relationship has been relatively informal and on a non-cash barter basis.
