Global IP Solutions (www.gipscorp.com) has rolled out its VideoEngine for Android. The new stack adds both HD voice and two-way video chat/conferencing capabilities to the Google mobile OS.
The announcement is the latest in a series for GIPS, as it rolls out VideoEngine Mobile for Android, iPhone and Windows Mobile OS platforms. VideoEngine includes the 16-bit iSAC HD voice codec, so GIPS continues to quietly both proliferate its software stack and HD voice across the mobile world.
However, it should be noted that GIPS isn’t alone in rolling out Android HD voice support. D2 Technologies (www.d2tech.com) has been busy since the beginning of the year rolling out HD voice support for Android, supporting G.722 in its first release and working on adding AMR-WB.
