And Orange launches HD voice in … Armenia?

Word out of Armenia is France Telecom (www.orange.com) has officially launched mobile HD voice services in that country, making it the second Orange mobile HD voice territory. 

PanARMENIAN.Net reports that FT Executive Vice President Olaf Swantee made the announcement at a June 24 news conference in Yerevan, Armenia.  The country is only the second – the first being Moldova – where mobile HD voice has been officially launched and that a phone. Orange Armenia also announced its upgraded HSUPA 3G network and that France Telecom plans to invest $50 million this year continue to build out Armenia’s third mobile phone network.

Earlier this week, Orange was generating buzz around its mobile HD voice trials in the UK; service is expected to be generally available later this summer. At Mobile World Congress, FT had pledged to intro HD voice service to France, Luxembourg and Spain in 2010, adding to a list that already included an operational Moldova, the UK, and Belgium.
