Los Angeles, CA – D2 Technologies (www.d2tech.com) and XConnect representatives gave hints of HD voice advancement around the globe.
D2 will have a “major customer” in Asia deploying its VoIP middleware stack on Android devices, including tablets, with HD being a major piece of the offering. D2 says most of the action its been seeing on the codec front has been G.722, with little demand to date for plugging in AMR-WB. “It’s on the specification list and something we can do, but when it comes time to pay for it…” said a D2 exec.
Xconnect (www.xconnect.com) said it is working on a transcoding solution with a partner and expected to make an announcement “shortly.” There were also allusions to other work in progress for HD federations.
