Last Vegas – At the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), NETGEAR (www.netgear.com) announced four new products for service providers that incorporate support for G.722 HD voice and CAT-iq.

The VEVG3700 includes a VDSL2 and dual GigE WAN gateway that can be used for DSL, FTTH or DOCSIS networks. In addition to GigE and dual-band (2.4 and 5.G GHz) Wi-Fi, plus G.722 support under VoIP. the solution can include an optional DECT CAT-iq base station. Service providers can include the kitchen sink by adding a DLNA/UPnP server.

More DECT included the slick-looking Digital Home Hub (DHH1000), and the VDH1000 and VDB1000 DECT handset and charging base. The DHH1000 includes all the features of the VEVG3700, but incorporates ADSL2+.   The VDH1000 features G.722 – wideband, hello! – support for CAT-iq 1.0 with 2.0 support “optional”; it also has a color LCD display.
