ARN (www.arnnet.com.au) reports Telstra is putting $600AU million into its network as a way of getting SMBs to use digital communications solutions. More importantly, Telstra is putting HD voice as a key role into its newly introduced Digital Business solution.
Digital Business combines a high-speed broadband service and VoIP with a QoS guarantee. The service is being targeted at SMBs with up to 25 staff and includes features such as a virtual reception service, per user pricing model, hosted email through Microsoft Exchange Online and a broadband backup service.
Required gear for the plan includes a Cisco router and one digital phone rental.
Two demo sites are already in place in Sydney and Melbourne. General availability in “capital cities” will start from later this month, with service coverage expanding to 90 percent of Aussie SMBs by September. Pricing starts from $120AU per month.
