Vodafone Turkey announces mobile HD voice service

Thanks to Ericsson for the tip

Vodafone Turkey has started HD voice service in Turkey, according to a report in Yeni Safak

An initial trial using AMR-WB was launched last month around Istanbul, with HD voice service to be extended across its coverage area in the future, if HD Voice News can trust Google Translate.

Vodafone Turkey is the second largest mobile network operator in the country and had 16.7 million subscribers in 2010.

This may be the second or third Vodafone operating group to work with HD voice.  Vodafone Essar has recently rolled out 3G service in India, but there‚Äôs been no conformation that HD voice is part of the bundle of services it offers.
