On July 7, Orange Uganda officially joined the mobile HD voice club, the first nation in Sub-Saharan Africa to do so.
The release from Orange had few other details, other than saying this was the second operator in Africa to turn up service.
All total, this is the 12th territory Orange has turned up, with the Dominican Republic and Switzerland falling under the “Planned Launch” category later this year on Orange’s official HD voice website.
It is unfortunate U.S. lawmakers and “The media” have yet to figure out one can now get better mobile call quality in such places as Armenia, India, Moldova, and Uganda. It is also unfortunate U.S. cellular carriers have become too big to be ashamed to be so behind in the technology curve.
