Vip mobile launches HD voice in Serbia, making 3 for Telekom Austria

TelecomPaper picks up another scoop, with Vip mobile’s announcement of HD voice service in Serbia.

Vip mobile is apparently offering HD voice service both on 2G or 3G networks, and says it is the first operator in Serbia to introduce HD voice.   Over 10,000 Vip customers are currently capable to make calls in HD voice, according to the company. Handsets currently supporting HD voice include Nokia C7, Nokia E7, Nokia E6 and Samsung I8700 handsets.

If Orange is the big power in HD voice deployments across its subsidaries, Telekom Austria is in the running for second place.   Last year, Vipnet in Croatia introduced HD voice while parent Telekom Austria announced plans in February 2011 to deploy HD voice service on its A1 mobile in Austria in September.
