Last week, D2 Technologies (www.d2tech.com) announced partnerships with Altair Semiconductor and Sequans Communications in the LTE world.
In the first announcement, D2’s mCUE communications client has been successfully integrated onto Altair’s FourGee™ 3100/6200 LTE chipset platform. The FourGee-3100/6200 LTE chipset supports both FDD and TD-LTE on a single semiconductor and software platform in any 3GPP frequency band between 700 and 2700 Mhz. Implementing a high-performance 20 MHz MIMO receive architecture, the chipset supports throughputs in excess of 100 Mbps downloads and 50 Mbps uploads. Altair boasts there are over 30 products using the FourGee-3100/6200 chipset which are either commercially shipping or in regulatory approvals.
Sequans and D2 have extended their existing relationship, with Sequans putting D2’s mCUE client on its LTE chipset. Sequans has recently announced three (3) new LTE baseband chips and a companion RF chips to support all global FDD and TDD LTE networks, and is participating in China Mobile’s large scale TD-LTE trial network in Shenzhen, China.
D2’s mCUE client solution provides support for SIP and IMS with multiple simultaneous sessions supported. Codecs supported with the vPort MP VoIP engine include G.722 and AMR-WB.
