GSA clarifies HD Voice News math, new mobile HD voice service providers

Alan Hadden, President of the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA – www.gsacom.com) was nice enough to drop a note to HD Voice News clarifying the math and added services providers between its October 3, 2011 report and the most recent one dated November 21, 2011.

Hadden writes–

The previous GSA report – dated October 3, 2011 confirmed 32 commercial mobile HD Voice networks. The current report – dated November 21, 2011 confirmed 36 commercial mobile HD Voice networks, by adding:

T-Mobile, Croatia
A1 Telekom, Austria
T-Mobile, Czech Republic
Deutsche Telekom, Germany

We have seen a big increase in interest in mobile HD Voice as confirmed by the number of network deployments and commercial launches. In November 2010 GSA identified 11 commercial network launches of mobile HD Voice, compared to 36 confirmed in November 2011. The number of HD voice mobile phones has more than tripled in the same period.

The number of downloads of the GSA’s mobile HD Voice reports has increased significantly; the October 3, 2011 report has achieved 897 downloads so far, which is almost twice as many as the report published 12 months previously.

Alan’s note means HD Voice News won’t have to reverse-engineer the answer. He also notes–

The number of downloads of the GSA’s mobile HD Voice reports has increased significantly; the October 3, 2011 report has achieved 897 downloads so far, which is almost twice as many as the report published 12 months previously.

The uptake follows a similar trend – abet not as dramatic — of interest at the HD Voice News website. Page loads and unique visits are so far up by about roughly 16 percent for 2011 as compared to 2010.
