Huawei forgets to mention HD voice with new phones, tablets at Mobile World Congress

Huawei’s (www.huaweidevice.com) new phones and tablets boast quad-core processors, Dolby sound and hot video, but do they support AMR-WB and HD voice? It’s not in the press releases.

The Huawei Ascend D quad “Pegasus” clames to be the fastest quad-core smartphone in the world and it certainly has the hardware to support HD voice, including Android 4.0, Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound and  Audience earSmart voice technology.  There’s also an Ascend D quad XL version that includes a faster processor and a bigger battery.

Initial availability for the phones will be in China, Australia, Europe, Asia-Pacific, North and South America, and the Middle East in the second quarter, with LTE versions expected in the third or fourth quarter this year.

Huawei also intro’ed a 10 inch quad core tablet with Android 4.0 and boasts HSPA+ speeds of up to 84 Mbps while also supporting LTE. It also has Dolby surround sound technology and will be available for the “global market” in Q2 2012.
