Rogers launches LTE network in Newfoundland, adds LTE Windows phone, HTC One X

Up in the Great White North, Rogers Communication has announced it has expanded its LTE network to St. John’s.  The company now covers Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver with coverage to 11 million Canadians.  Rogers expects to expand its LTE network to more than 25 cities in 2012.

In addition, Rogers added the Nokia Lumia 900 and HTC One X, both devices that support AMR-WB and HD voice.  The Lumina 900 is the first Windows Phone LTE smartphone while the HTC One X was announced at Mobile World Congress yesterday.

Rogers hasn’t said when it will it will add voice over LTE (VoLTE) to its 4G network.
