Vonage Mobile HD voice soft client hits 1M downloads

Since launching in February 2012, the Vonage Mobile soft client has racked up over a million downloads.  The app enables users to make free iSAC HD voice calls and texts via Wi-Fi.

In a press release this week, Vonage also boasted over half a million of its customers signed up for its Vonage Extensions service to make mobile calls at the same rate as their Vonage calling plan.

When Vonage first launched the app, it said the soft client – available on iThings and Android – used Google’s ISAC client. It plans to add Bluetooth functionality, MMS, and low-cost international roaming to the soft phone in the future.
