Wolfson Microelectronics introduces new silicon with voice processor DSP

Scotland-based Wolfson Microelectronics has announced its next generation high definition audio SOC (System-on-a-Chip) with a voice processor DSP.

Intended for the smartphone and tablet market, the WM5102 reduces background noise in voice calls by up to 90 percent.  It has 50 MIPS of processing power using the on-chip audio DSP and includes integrated transmit path (Tx) noise reduction, echo cancellation and receive path (Rx) noise reduction.

The WM5102 available for sampling now.
