Ooma announces “new” handset, wireless remote phone jack

Over-the-top provider Ooma has announced two “new” accessories, but one of them was initially announced back in January 2012 with a shipping date of March 2012.

Originally announced at CES 2012 with listed availability date of March 2012, the Ooma HD2 Handset is a wireless DECT handset supporting G.722 with a two-inch color LCD screen with the ability to tag pictures to Caller ID information.  It can import pictures and contact information from Facebook, Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Outlook and MacAddressBook.   Up to four handsets can be used with each Oomo Telo base station.  MSRP of the handset is $59.99, and available through the company’s website and “select retailers.”

Ooma Lynx wirelessly connects phones, fax machines or other telephony devices around the home using DECT. Paying Ooma Premier subscribes use it to provide access to a second phone line without the Ooma Telo HD2 handset. The DECT wireless RJ-11 extender has an MSRP of $49.99.
