Vodafone Portugal will be launching HD voice service by the end of the year, according to a web post from a company spokesperson.
An October 10 post said Vodafone was in the process of testing HD voice on its network and would be turned up by the end of the 2012 calendar year, assuming no equipment issues.
Vodafone Portugal would join incumbent carrier TMN in providing HD voice service. The carrier is the second largest in the country with around 6.1 million subscribers reported as of December 2010.
The combination of TMN and Vodafone Portugal gives the majority of the country’s mobile subscribers access to HD voice Optimus, the third and final carrier in Portugal, does not yet support AMR-WB.
