Certainly, there are technical challenges [...] Los Angeles – Aculab (www.aculab.com) said it is currently putting Skype SILK transcoding through its quality assurance process with a targeted Q4 2010 release date (i.e. by the end of the year). SILK transcoding will be supported through Prosody S software, but only at sampling rates of 8 kHz (narrowband) and 16 kHz (wideband); the company won’t [...] Aculab (www.aculab.com) has released a white paper on HD voice today. The 8 page document (well, 5 readable pages, 1 of references, 1 cover, one boilerplate), “Hear your customers loud and clear with wideband (HD Voice) technology,” notes the recent surge of discussion around the mobile space but then goes on to discuss the ability of HD [...] Aculab has announced its Prosody X and Prosody media products now support more wideband codecs. The company has officially added support for G.722, G.722.1 and G.722.2/AMR-WB.
