Miami, FL – Panasonic (www.panasonic.com/sip) has rolled out a $499 7 inch color touch screen Android-based desk phone. But they say they can’t call it Android due to legal headaches with Google.
The KX-UT670 is certified as compatible with a bunch of different SIP-based platforms, including Asterisk, BroadSoft, and Metaswitch. Codecs supported include G.722, G.726.

From the Czech Republic, Acrobits has released the latest versions of its iPhone client. Both versions support G.722 in addition to a “SmoothFlow” video technology for video calling. An Android client is expected to launch in the the second quarter of this year.
