CableLabs (www.cablelabs.com) announced the results of a recent interoperability testing event focused around HD voice (“wideband High-Definition Voice”, if you prefer). The standards lab for the cable industry also announced a collaboration agreement with the DECT Forum.

Word out of the CableLabs conference is Franch Telecom has embraced the CableLabs CAT-iq handset standard for its HD Voice service going forward, making it the first non-cable company to get on board.
