LG Uplus to launch VoLTE service for South Korea in October

LG Uplus (U+) will be delivering Voice over LTE (VoLTE) in October 2012, making South Korea the first country to get national VoLTE coverage. 

First reported in The Korea Herald, LG Uplus has completed its nationwide LTE network and “is considering” providing VoLTE on all LTE-based devices starting in 2013.

Sprint boasts HD voice in 2012, HTC 4G LTE as “First HD Voice-capable” smartphone in U.S.

Sprint is playing up HD voice – both in its network and phone “capabilities” in the roll out of its latest HTC Evo.  The HTC EVO 4G LTE will be available in “the second quarter” for $199.99, with pre-orders starting on May 7.

AETA launches Scoopy+ hardware codec device for LTE, professional audio hardware

Out at 2012 NAB (National Association of Broadcasters), AETA AUDIO SYSTEMS says it will launch an enhanced version of Scoopy+, a multitasking portable codec device, with new support for LTE.  The company says French radio Europe 1 now uses HD voice and the Scoopy+ HD to transmit live from streets of various French cities.
