A senior AT&T executive has confirmed the company plans on rolling out Voice over LTE (VoLTE) later this year.

D2 Technologies announced its IR.92 VoLTE software will be going on the NVIDIA Icera family of LTE modem chipsets for mobile devices.

ZTE conducts SRVCC VoLTE call for Hong Kong’s CSL

ZTE has conducted a Voice over LTE (VoLTE) call using Single Radio Voice Call Continuity (SRVCC) for Hong Kong mobile operator CSL, reports Telecom Lead.

The VoLTE call handoff was done to a 3G HD voice network with an ”eSRVCC based pre-commercial network,” according to the story,

GSA LTE update: 105 commercial networks launched, 351 operators investing in LTE

The Global mobile Suppliers Association’s (GSA) October 1, 2012 report says 351 operators are investing in LTE, with 105 operators having launched commercial LTE networks in 48 countries. Another 194 network deployments are in progress.
